Thanksgiving started early in North Bergen

Thanksgiving kicked off early yesterday in North Bergen with a Thanksgiving dinner and a religious service provided by a coalition of churches.

At the Schuetzen Park Ballroom, a free Thanksgiving event and dinner hosted by the North Bergen Concerned Citizens group at 7 p.m. fed roughly 1,200 people holiday fare. Attendees also enjoyed music and presentations from the leaders of the group.
Grove Reformed Church, located at 1132 46th St., joined with four pastors from various local churches of several denominations to hold a special Thanksgiving Eve service at 7:30 p.m. About 20 worshippers attended the service.
