SACCO STRONG ARM  BRIGADE PLAYS GRINCH

AS COPS TRY TO STOP SANTA PHOTO FOR KIDS

(North Bergen, December 8, 2012) Mayor Nick Sacco’s administration is again  employing its strong arm harassment tactics against a citizens group trying to communicate with residents

This time Sacco’s troops were out harassing Larry Wainstein and approximately 35 volunteers for the North  Bergen Concerned Citizens Group  today who are going door to doors handing out fliers announcing that children and their parents can have free photographs taken with Santa Claus courtesy of the organization.

Wainstein says he and the volunteers were confronted by police officers  who tried to stop the flier distribution by claiming  there were complaints that the fliers were being dropped in people’s mail boxes.

“We did not leave fliers in mail boxes and we did not disturb anyone. In fact the reaction we have been receiving has been very positive,” said Wainstein

The NBCCG leader said the police harassment continued until the organization’s attorney Mario Blanch, who was also distributing fliers, intervened and questioned why the police were interfering with a charitable civic activity.

“It’s astonishing that in North Bergen you apparently need a lawyer to do something nice for children at Christmas time,” said Blanch, who eventually convinced police officer that no laws were being violated by the NBCCG volunteers

Wainstein said the Grinch-like tactics of Sacco’s administration are nothing new. He noted how town public works employees interfered in local elections in town and in other nearby communities – and that the public works department is now under state investigation for misusing public employees.

“Even when his administration is under investigation, and subpoenas are being dropped on town hall, Mayor Sacco still wants to stop anyone or any group that does not bow to him from doing good things for the community,” said Wainstein.
